CM takes notice of action against street vendors in anti-encroachment operation

–Sardar Usman Buzdar orders constitution of taskforce to review matters of private hospitals

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday took notice of action against the common people as part of the anti-encroachment operation and issued directions to the authorities concerned that earning opportunities should not be snatched away from street vendors.

“Action against land mafia should be continued in full swing but the campaign is not aimed at depriving the poor of their livelihood; rather it is meant for recovering precious lands from the supercilious citizens and elimination of powerful land mafia. If any action is initiated against the common man then the officers concerned will be answerable,” he said in a statement issued here.

Separately, the chief minister also ordered to constitute a taskforce to review matters pertaining to private hospitals and colleges.

The taskforce will review different issues, including fee structure of private hospitals, provision of healthcare facilities and procedure of recruitment of doctors. It will also finalise its recommendations for the provision of better treatment facilities and relief to the people at private hospitals.

The chief minister has also sought a detailed briefing about admissions, doctors’ recruitment and facilities in private medical colleges. The taskforce will present its proposals for improvement and submit a detailed report about the private medical colleges.
