PTI submits resolution in Punjab Assembly to suspend Mashhood as MPA

LAHORE: A resolution demanding suspension of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Mashhood as a member of provincial assembly (MPA), over his controversial statement was submitted in Punjab Assembly on Thursday.

The resolution was presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during the session of the assembly.

Earlier, Rana Mashhood had claimed that PML-N has sorted out matters with the establishment. He said, “I’m not talking about any deal. The establishment has always accepted Shehbaz Sharif”.

“Matters aren’t going as planned. If things continue to run in the same fashion, then PML-N will form the government in Punjab in the next two months”, stated Mashhood.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor had termed statement issued by PML-N leader Rana Mashhood ‘baseless and regrettable’.

ISPR DG issued the statement on popular micro-blogging website Twitter.

He said. “Attribution of an obvious vested statement by Rana Mashhood is baseless and regrettable. Such irresponsible expressions are detrimental to stability in the country”.

The PML-N had clarified his stance, saying that his statement was taken out of context and that he has always raised voice against corrupt officials.

Rana Mashood further stated that he hasn’t specifically mentioned Pakistan army anywhere in the whole interview and so it is being misinterpreted.
