LAHORE: The Pakistan People s Party (PPP) on Thursday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly demanding the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar over his involvement in the Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Gondal’s transfer case.

The transfer had come in the backdrop of Khawar Fareed Manika’s altercation with Gondal over the alleged mistreatment of policemen with his son and daughter while they were heading to Pakpattan in a car. Manika had demanded that the DPO tender an apology to him by visiting his outhouse.

Taking the suo moto notice of the issue Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan had appointed National Counterterrorism Authority (NACTA) Chairman Khalik Dad Lak to probe the matter and submit a report.

The resolution has come after the inquiry report submitted to SC found Punjab CM Buzdar guilty of misusing his office for transfer of Pakpattan DPO Rizwan Gondal. As per the report, orders for the transfer of the DPO flowed from the CM office.
