Allegedly abducted 14-year-old went off with lover

KARACHI: A 14-year-old earlier believed to be kidnapped told police she went off with her own consent after police recovered her with a boy from a house in Surjani Town.

Dua was reported missing by her family from PIB colony who said she had gone to school and did not return. After her family registered protests, police lodged an FIR and found her alongside a boy named Waqas in Surjani Town.

However, in her statement to the police, the girl said that she went with Waqas out of her free will and wants to live with him.

Member of provincial assembly Jamal Siddiqui commended police officials were their work and announced a reward of Rs10,000 for the personnel.

Earlier, police had informed media that Waqas was an abductor who had either kidnapped or lured the girl into going with him.
