Govt taking bold steps to improve power, agriculture sectors: power minister

HARIPUR: Federal Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan here Tuesday said the government was taking revolutionary measures for the eradication of poverty and for bringing improvements in the power sector.

He said the past governments had left Pakistan in deep crises but the people of this country have found a true leader in Prime Minister Imran Khan who is honest, trustworthy, visionary, and with all the abilities to address all existing challenges faced by the country today.

The minister said this while addressing a reception hosted by the residents of Pandak village of Haripur.

He said the economy of the country has been destroyed by the Rs400 billion circular debt due to the inefficient policies of the past regime and the PTI government was taking bold steps for its revival.

“We are also striving to bring a positive change in the power sector and to overcome the low voltage issue for which we have formulated an inclusive strategy,” he said.

The minister maintained that our government is taking revolutionary steps for the eradication of poverty and to develop the agriculture sector.

Omer Ayub Khan said funds for the 132 KV grid station for Khapur and Sari Saleh were allocated that would end the issue of low voltage and unscheduled load shedding problems in the area.
