Leading artificial intelligence experts Andrew McAfee and Erik Brynjolfsson have predicted that amongst the jobs that will be killed by artificial intelligence is that of Pakistan’s head of state.
While explaining their recently released timeline of the expected obsolescence of certain jobs, they predicted that artificial intelligence is going to edge truck drivers out of the market by as early as 2028.
“By 2060, we predict that robots will be performing surgery better than the absolute best surgeons in the world,” said Brynjolfsson.
“But they will also be doing things that were once thought to be impossible for computers to attempt, like write books,” said McAfee. “We predict that by 2050, computers will be able to write a New York Times bestseller book.”
“And, by as early as 1973, artificial intelligence will completely do away with the need for a human to be President of Pakistan,” he added.
“We even have a prototype for this situation,” Brynjolfsson said, pointing to a mannequin put upright behind him. “As you can see, behind me, the Alvi-3000 is perfectly capable of standing in the heat on the 23rd March parade without even breaking into a sweat.”
“It will also be able to sign pieces of legislation after they have been approved by both National Assembly and Senate,” he said. “Till we figure out how the Alvi-3000 actually does the signing, the pieces of legislation would automatically be considered to have passed within the two weeks stipulated in the constitution. So no biggie.”
