Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s lawmaker and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Maleeka Ali Bokhari has rejected her appointment as Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

Maleeka on Sunday tweeted that she was not appointed as head of BISP and moreover she was not related to Zulfi Bokhari.

Earlier, it emerged on media that PM Imran has appointed Maleeka Bukhari as chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

“Maleeka Ali Bukhari is appointed as chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), in terms of Section 5 (3) of Benazir Income Support Programme Act, 2010, with immediate effect and until further orders,” a notification circulating in media said. But this notification was fake.

A similar story with picture also stormed the social media the other day that PM Imran has appointed the daughter of Bushra Bibi as advisor to the PM on women empowerment which also proved fake.

The BISP is a flagship programme for eradication of poverty and elevating the status of marginalized and under-privileged sections of society, especially women, through the establishment of comprehensive social protection net.
