PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to take custody of the provincial assets of Ehtesab Commission.

According to reports, the KP Establishment and Administration Department will take over the assets while cases pending in the commission will be shifted to Directorate of Anti-Corruption and National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

There will be an option for the employees at the commission to receive a golden handshake while others would be added to a surplus pool. For contractual employees, the KP Cabinet will decide on revising their status at a later stage.

“Implementation on the provincial government’s decision to close down the commission is under way,”  KP Establishment Secretary Arshad Majeed informed a local media outlet.

“In this regard, a repeal act has been sent to the government for approval,” he added.

The 2014  Ehtesab Commission Act established the commission.
