Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday met his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
Qureshi and the Russian FM discussed matters of mutual interest, including defence, peace and prosperity. They also reiterated their desire to work closely for enhancing bilateral trade, business and investment relations.
“Russian cooperation in the power sector is a proof of the strong bilateral ties that both Islamabad and Moscow enjoy,” Qureshi said.
Lavrov, during the meeting, congratulated Qureshi on his appointment as Pakistan’s foreign minister.
