Election tribunal to hear MNA Shaukat Ali’s disqualification plea

LAHORE: Election tribunal on Thursday issued a notice to the Member National Assembly Shaukat Ali elected from NA-87, fixing plea for hearing seeking his disqualification.

Justice Mamoon-ur-Rashid took up the case for hearing on Thursday.

The petition was filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saira Afzal Tarar before the Election Tribunal seeking disqualification of MNA Shaukat Ali from NA 87. She had argued that returning officer of the constituency had not provided her with form-45.

It is vital to mention here that Shaukat Ali had defeated Saira Afzal Tarar by securing 8500 more votes than her in the July 25 general elections.
