Two missing children were found dead in different areas of Karachi, a local media house reported.

It was further reported that one missing child had drowned in an open manhole and another was murdered.

According to Sohrab Goth police, the body of two-year-old Mohammad Ilyas, who was missing since September 15 was found in a sewerage line at Sindhi Society in Ayub Goth. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where drowning was confirmed as the cause of death.

Police had registered an FIR (331/2018) under Sections 363 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on a complaint of the victim’s parents.

Another boy, who had also been missing in the Sohrab Goth police limits, was found murdered in bushes near Al-Rehman Society. A rope was found around his neck.

The boy of around 12 years of age was identified as Rehan Khan and had been missing since August 26 from Sohrab Goth and his parents had lodged an FIR (311/2018) under Section 364 of the Pakistan Penal Code against unknown suspects.

The police said that the skeleton of the boy was found and it is likely that the boy might have been murdered soon after his kidnapping as the corpse appears to be more than 20 days old.
