PESHAWAR: Peshawar capital city police officer (CCPO) Qazi Jamil ur Rehman suspended two traffic wardens on Wednesday after a video of them verbally and physically abusing a citizen in the vicinity of Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Stadium signal went viral on Tuesday night.
According to media reports, the traffic police officials maintain that the citizen violated traffic rules and did not stop his car at the signal when he was asked to do so. They are insistent that the driver had provoked them by his misbehaviour.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General (IG) Police Salahuddin Khan also took notice of the incident.
