Earthquake jolts Sibi, Upper Dir

An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 on the Richter scale jolted different areas of Sibi on Monday. However, no loss of human or property was reported.

According to the geological wing of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), tremors measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale were felt in Sibi and surrounding areas.

People rushed out of their homes and shops in the affected areas reciting verses from the Holy Quran.

The epicentre of the quake was stated to be 22 kilometers east of Sibi, and 30 kilometers inside the earth’s crust.

Moreover, tremours were also felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Upper Dir and surrounding areas. The earthquake in the KP district was recorded as 4.1 on the Richter scale with a depth of 20km.
