LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday expedited its investigation into the Multan Metro Bus project and started the scrutiny of accounts and assets of the arrested official’s family.

According to details, the anti-graft watchdog has also summoned the managers and owners of the construction companies, who had been awarded contracts during the construction of the mass transit project. According to sources, the involvement of a few other officers has also been revealed during the investigation.

“Arrested XEN Amanat Ali and SDO Munam Saeed were illegally getting fuel and vehicles from a consultant company and the two also visited France, Italy and Spain on trips sponsored by the same company,” the report said.

It added that Chief Engineer Sabir Sadozoi also enjoyed a trip to Dubai along with his wife, the expenses of which were bore by the government.

NAB has summoned the manager and owner of the construction company on September 24 once again for further probe while six already arrested accused will be produced before an accountability court on September 26 at the end of their remand duration.
