Auction of PM House buffaloes ‘moo-ved’ to September 27

The buffaloes of Prime Minister’s House will be up for auction on September 27, media reports said on Thursday.

A notification has been issued by the PM House administration regarding the auction of buffaloes.

As per the notification, the auction of eight Nili-Ravi buffaloes will take place at 11:00 am at the dairy farm of the PM House on September 27.

The buffalos will be sold out to the person who offers the highest bid, the government said.

The notification also says the competent authority has also the right to reject the bid on any grounds.

The auction of PM House vehicles has already commenced in view of the austerity drive initiated by the ruling PTI government. Other initiatives include setting up a university at the official residence which is now vacated

The buffaloes have been in the headlines since Naeemul Haq’s announcement that they will also be auctioned. “After the surplus car auction, four surplus helicopters will be sold which are lying unused with the cabinet division. Plus now listen to this, eight buffaloes which Nawaz kept at the PM house for his gastronomic requirements. So all potential buyers please get ready,” advisor to PM Imran Khan on political affairs tweeted.

Earlier, a video had surfaced on social media showing PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan talking with the caretakers of the cattle. One of them told the senator that the milk was used by the former PM.

Javed then told a man with him that very soon these will be sold out and the palatial residence will be converted into a centre of excellence.

Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, on the other hand, had suggested to “keep the buffaloes and sell their milk to earn money for the public exchequer.”
