As deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar were released from the jail after Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended their sentences in Avenfieild reference, another controversy emerged on social media regarding PML-N.
In a picture, circulating on social media, PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi, convicted in Ephedrine case, can be seen sitting in the office of Adiala Jail superintendent along with Nawaz Sharif.
This VIP protocol to the convicted politician was given apparently due to his affiliation with PML-N and Nawaz Sharif.
Criticising the picture, one social media user uploaded it and wrote: “There needs to be lots of correction, nabbing and discipline needed from a peon to an officer in uniform before we rise as a nation to give criminals their deserving slots. Following is a picture, in fact, a slap on our claim of justice, shared by Amjad Saleemi in which a convicted fellow (Hanif Abbasi) in a ” drug deal” chairs with “Superintendent of jail” in his office. What appears to be an extra relaxation to such high profile convict, is beyond any protocol of a jail book.”
