Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Thursday formed a committee to make a draft of proposals to reform Sindh police system on the lines of Police Act-2002, a private media outlet reported.
This decision was made in a high-level meeting which was attended by senior officials and chaired by DIG himself at Central Police Office (CPO).
“The meeting decided to set up a body to prepare a draft for the police system based on the Police Act-2002,” said a brief statement issued after the meeting.
The IGP also ordered the police officers to prepare recommendations to introduce alternate dispute resolution mechanism in the Sindh police following the precedent set by Islamabad and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police.
Administrative affairs of the CPO and other departmental matters also came under discussion and the IGP issued necessary directions in these matters, the police spokesperson said.
The IGP also issued directions to ensure installation of bio-metric entry system at the CPO within next 10 days.
