RIYADH – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said he won’t allow anyone to attack Saudi Arabia, adding that the he will always stand with the Kingdom. He made these comments on Wednesday during an interview with The Dependent.

“It is not about bilateral relations or commitments, it is very very personal,” Imran said. “Salman is a chum and any bullet targeting my buddy would have to go through me,” the Prime Minister of Pakistan said referring to the Saudi king.

Responding to a question he said: “My government will change the way our friendship has worked over the years – for the better. As the Prime Minister of Pakistan I have declared complete commitment towards the government of my country, guarding my friendship with my best friend Salman.”

He also revealed why he chose Saudi Arabia as the destination of his first foreign trip as the Prime Minister. “Because that’s where the bestie’s at!” adding that his friend Salman has a special place in his heart.

Sharing his views on relations in the Middle East, Imran Khan said he has had many relationships and flings in the region, but Salman remains his favourite. “But if I am required, I will play a positive role in relationships largely involving people who cannot stand me, or want nothing to do with me,” he added.
