Sharifs reach Lahore after being released from Adiala jail

ISLAMABAD: Former premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Mohammad Safdar arrived in Lahore after they were released from Adiala prison on Wednesday after the Islamabad High Court (UHC) suspended their sentences in the Avenfield corruption reference during the day.

The former premier, his daughter and son-in-law were taken to Nur Khan Airbase amid stringent security from where they left for Lahore via a special plane.

A large number of party workers also accompanied the PML-N supremo to the airbase. Jubilant workers chanted slogans and showered the ex-premier’s vehicle with rose petals on his arrival in Lahore.
