KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday gave an ultimatum to K-Electric and National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) till October 30 for submitting their reply on unannounced load-shedding.
SHC was hearing an application of contempt of court against KE and NEPRA, filed by a citizen, Karamat Ali.
The applicant said that KE and NEPRA are not implementing the directives of the honourable court.
Karamat Ali said that hundreds of citizens died of heatstroke in Karachi due to heavy load-shedding. The court had directed NEPRA to conduct inquiry against the KE.
The petitioner also said that KE is still carrying out unannounced load shedding.
