The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would not need assistance from any other party in order to enact regular legislation, despite being a minority in the Senate, a local media outlet reported on Monday.

However, the ruling alliance will be unable to make changes to the constitution because it lacks the two-thirds majority needed to do so. This situation will prevail even if the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chooses to help.

Similarly, the PTI government will be unable to complete its promise of creating a new South Punjab province without assistance from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) because it lacks the necessary numbers to do so.
