MNA Aamir Liaqat not allowed to meet PM Imran in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member National Assembly (MNA) Aamir Liaquat Hussain on Sunday was restrained from meeting Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan at the state guest house in Karachi.

The PM’s one day visit began with a visit to pay homage at the Quaid’s mausoleum after which he headed to the guest house.

The talk show host turned MNA reached the guest house where the premier was headed five minutes before the PM himself. ON his arrival he was barred from entering the premises to greet the prime minister who is in the port city for the first time after assuming his seat.

Aamir, insistent on meeting the PM, waited outside believing that he would soon receive a green signal from security protocol before he eventually left without meeting the PM Khan.

In response to journalists, Aamir replied that he must not have been let in because of turning up ahead of schedule.

He said that he had no qualms about the admission of former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) convener Farooq Sattar into PTI and that he would respect the decision taken by the party leadership.

On August 29, MNA Hussain left a PTI WhatsApp group, made for communication between the party’s lawmakers, after being snubbed from an earlier gathering at the Governor House in the port city.
