Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that those who wished to participate in the Rasm-e-Qul of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s wife, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, should organise Quran Khawani and Dua in their respective cities.
Speaking to a private media outlet, Shehbaz said that only family members would participate in the Rasm-e-Qul on Sunday to save general public and party sympathisers from any difficulties and distress.
He also thanked political leaders, party workers and people for attending the funeral prayers of the late Begum Kulsoom and said the prayers of the nation had fortified the entire Sharif family in this hour of grief.
Meanwhile, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, along with his mother, visited Begum Kulsoom’s grave in Jati Umra and offered Fateha there.
Kulsoom Nawaz had passed away in London on September 11 after a year-long battle with cancer. Her Rasm-e-Qul is to be held in Jati Umra on Sunday during Asr and Maghrib.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari will also be visiting Nawaz along with a party delegation to offer their condolences at the occasion.
