PM Imran set to expand cabinet with four new ministers

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on Saturday decided to further expand the federal cabinet.

Four to five new ministers will be inducted in the federal cabinet after Ashura.

Faisal Vawda from Karachi and Fazal Muhammad Khan from Charsaddda as well as Ali Ameen Gandapur and Azam Swati will be the cabinet’s new additions. Moreover, efforts to reconcile with estranged Muhammad Mian Soomro are also being made.

Earlier on Tuesday, Omar Ayub Khan, Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar and Syed Ali Haider Zaidi were inducted as federal ministers whereas, Muhammad Shabir Ali, Murad Saeed and Hammad Azhar were inducted as state ministers.

PM Imran Khan had initially unveiled a 20-member cabinet including fifteen ministers and five advisers. The federal cabinet currently has nineteen ministers and four ministers of state along with four advisers and three special assistants to the prime minister.

The federal cabinet currently has 19 ministers and four ministers of state while prominent ministries including Science and Technology, Overseas Pakistanis, transportation, Kashmir affairs, Narcotics, Postal Services and Parliamentary Affairs are still vacant.
