Four terrorists killed, three soldiers martyred in North Waziristan operation

ISLAMABAD: Four terrorists were killed and three soldiers embraced martyrdom on Thursday during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan, said Inter-Service Public Relations in a statement.

The security forces launched an IBO in North Waziristan against terrorists involved in an attack on armed forces personnel on September 12. The terrorists were also involved in an attack that killed Lieutenant Moeen in December 2017.

The terrorists were fully armed and that all four including operational level terrorist Aftab Parakay was killed, army’s media wing said.

In exchange of fire, three soldiers namely Naib Subedar Nazir Ahmed Chandio, Sepoy Fakhar and Sepoy Amir were martyred.

The ISPR said that the area has been cleared now.

Moreover, five security personnel were injured on Thursday in North Waziristan after unknown assailants opened fire, according to reports.

The security personnel were members of a patrol team and were on duty.

The injured were identified as Naek Rehman Zafar, Sepoy Syed Jabbar Shah, Sepoy Ali Raza, Sepoy Khurram and Sepoy Muhammad Ali.

The injured were shifted to Miranshah Hospital and a heavy contingent of security personnel reached the site of the incident.
