A 16-year-old girl was reportedly subjected to sexual assault in Mandi Bahauddin’s Malakwal area on Wednesday.
According to the police, the girl’s father registered a complaint at the Gojra police station in which he claimed that the his daughter was on her way to buy groceries when the accused Noman and Mamrez abducted her. He added that they took her to their dera and sexually assaulted her there.
The victim’s father further alleged that the boys tossed her unconscious body after assaulting her.
The girl’s father demanded that the police arrest the culprits and give them harsh punishments.
The Gojra police have registered a case and have begun investigations. However, they have not arrested anyone as yet.
Sexual assault and rape, especially of minors, continue to plague the society. According to a study, 3445 children were subjected to sexual violence across the nation in 2017. Girls formed an overwhelming majority of child sexual abuse victims at 60%.
