Meera, Hamza, others offer condolences to Sharifs following Kulsoom’s demise

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, passed away at the age of 68 in London on Tuesday following months-long battle with cancer. As the news of her demise spread, messages of condolences began to pour in for the Sharif family.

Pakistani celebs including Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hareem Farooq, Meera Jee, Feroze Khan, Resham and HSY also expressed their sadness over the former first-lady’s passing away.

Inna lillah e wa inna aleyhey rajioun. May Allah have mercy on her soul. Its a request to please not disrespect the deceased by politically manipulating her death and giving opinions like Nawaz and Maryam should be freed because Kulsoom sahiba died etc etc. Please!” wrote Abbasi on Twitter.

“Rest in peace Mohatarma Kulsoom Nawaz,” wrote Humayun Saeed.

“Sincere condolences to the Sharif family. May her soul Rest in Peace,” tweeted Fahad Mustafa.

Hareem Farooq wrote on Twitter, “Sincere condolences to the Sharif family on the passing of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. May Allah grant her soul maghfirat. Ameen”

Meera Jee shared on Twitter, “I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to the Sharif family on the passing away of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz after suffering complications related to cancer. May Allah SWT grant her departed soul eternal peace with in Jannat ul Firdous Aameen.”

In another tweet, she wrote, “I would like in spite of her failing health, Begum Kulsoom was a traditional bastion of the PML-N who ensured the party remained functional during the most difficult of times. May God bless her. Love, Meera.”

Sharing her own experience, singer Meesha Shafi sent her love and condolences to Maryam Nawaz and the Sharif family, saying, “Today is my father’s (Syed Parvez Shafi) first barsi, I could not make it to NY in time to bury him. And I don’t know if I will ever be able to bury that regret. I feel your pain Maryam Sharif. Stay strong and have faith in this time of loss and grief.”

Feroze Khan wrote, “Innalahe wa inna ilayhe rajeon – condolences to Shareef family. May Allah provide the family enough strength to deal with the loss.”

Resham: “Sad to know about Kulsoom Nawaz sahiba’s death. May Allah grant her jannah.”

HSY: “My condolences to the Sharif family. May her soul Rest In Peace.”
