Lok Virsa to highlight Rumi’s philosophy of love, mysticism

ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) will organise a literary session – Muzakra – on Rumi’s philosophy of love, wisdom and mysticism here on Thursday.

Dr Muhammad Najeeb Khan and Muhammad Saleem Sethi will be the main speakers for the literary session. Though Maulana Rumi belongs to Iran but he enjoys the equal level reverence and ownership in Pakistan by the virtue of having an internationally-recognised status as a Sufi personality.

In the same session, the participants will also have the chance to listen to the recitation of selected mathnavis of Rumi by Muhammad Saleem Sethi. He will recite them both in Persian and Urdu. He himself has done the translation of mathnavis of Rumi into Urdu. Sethi shall also give a short but concise and insightful review of the Rumi’s personality.
