LAHORE: A ban on underage driving on Wednesday was put in place by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Justice Ali Akber Qureshi was hearing the petition and observed that underage children are barred from driving rickshaws, cars or motorbikes.
The petition had been filed by Abdullah Malik.
If a violation is spotted, parents of the underage child will be asked to sign an affidavit.
At the second stage, if the violation is observed again, parents of the child will be jailed because it is their responsibility, the judge remarked.
Laws must be strictly observed, the court also ruled.
