The 70th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being observed today with due solemnity and reverence.
Quran Khawani and Fateha will be held at Quaid’s mausoleum, while people of different walks of life will visit the mausoleum to lay floral wreath and offer Fateha.
Several public and private organisations and educational institutions will hold functions to highlight different aspects of the life of Quaid-e-Azam, who united the Muslims of the Subcontinent for acquiring a separate homeland.
Media will air special programmes to pay homage to the great leader.
Excerpts from the speeches of Quaid-e-Azam will also be broadcast during the special transmissions.
After one year of creation of Pakistan, Jinnah died in Karachi on September 11, 1948, at the age of 71.
