Govt to auction helicopters, buffaloes, says Naeemul Haq

Helicopter in use of Prime Minister Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Political Affairs Naeemul Haq on Tuesday said that four surplus helicopters of the Cabinet Division will be auctioned, while eight buffaloes kept at PM House for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s ‘gastronomic requirements’ will also be sold.

The helicopters are not currently under the Cabinet Division’s use and thus deemed surplus helicopters, he said on twitter.

“After the surplus car auction , 4 surplus helicopters will be sold which are lying unused with the cabinet division. Plus , now listen to this, 8 buffaloes which Nawaz kept at the PM house for his gastronomic requirements. So all potential buyers please get ready,” he tweeted.

Auction of luxury and other surplus vehicles is scheduled for September 17 while the helicopters and buffaloes will be sold off at a later date.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced an austerity drive after assuming office and vowed to cut back on government expenditures, including cuts on operational costs.
