ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of China to Pakistan Yao Jing called on Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman in Islamabad and discussed with him matters pertaining to joint development projects being implemented in GB.
According to CM media cell, the Chinese envoy on the occasion assured that the government of China will transfer five billion rupees in GB government account for completion of ongoing welfare projects in next week.
It has been decided that China will provide access to GB for export of vegetables and fruits to Chinese markets.
Speaking on the occasion, GB CM Hafeezur Rehman said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring prosperity in the region including GB.
It has been decided to exchange delegation between Xaijing province and GB to share the expertise of each other.
Both leaders also agreed to initiate steps to make KKH between Gilgit and Kashgar.
