Channel 24 shamelessly censors news of Asma-from-hospital given charge of Dam Fund

(Disclaimer: this is a work of fiction. Learn to take a joke; you’ll live longer.)
In a brazen display of media power, popular television Channel 24 has censored completely the news of famous financial expert Asma-from-hospital being given charge of the Dam Fund.
“We keep talking about the Deep State and the leverage that the provincial information departments have when it comes to deciding what goes to press and what doesn’t,” said Hajira Khattak, chair of the Journalism Reform Group, “but what about the press itself? What about instances where they decide to arbitrarily cut out the truth.”
“Thank God, the other news outlets decided not to impede the flow of information to the public,” she said. “Otherwise, all the media outlets can gang up and not give out the truth and keep the public completely unaware. Or this cartel could even make up news.”
Channel 24’s strained relations with the noted theorist started when it claimed to have exposed her as a 20-year-old boy name who went by the name Shaani from Sabzazaar, Lahore. The public at large, however, did not accept these allegations.
When contacted, Asma said, “please aap jo koi bhi ho, mujhe Rs100 ka load kara dein, wapis kar dungi, pakka. Asma from Hospital.”
