23 booked for brutally thrashing student at BZU in Multan

MULTAN: Police on Monday lodged a case against 23 suspects for brutally torturing a student at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU).

The security personnel launched raids at the university hostels on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar’s directives, however, no detention has been made so far.

The university administration has also issued notices to the students involved in the incident and directed them to cooperate with the police.

Strict security arrangements have been ensured in the premises of the campus to avoid any untoward incident.

It is to be mentioned here that a group of students badly thrashed a student, belonging to Balochistan, in the university.

Afterwards, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and directed local authorities to present a report to him within 24 hours.
