The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) has alleged that a number of public universities in the country are suffering from massive financial and administrative irregularities concerning recruitment, a local media outlet reported on Friday.
The association called for immediate resolution to the problems and warned a pen-down strike would be launched otherwise.
The association’s general secretary also called for the government to introduce a bailout package for public sector universities.
He further added that teachers at the universities were being victimised by senior management and appointments not being made on merit.
