VIDEO: Newscaster mistakenly reads ‘Kitabcha’ as ‘Kuta Bacha’

A newscaster of a private news channel read and said ‘Kuta Bacha’ (puppy) instead of ‘Kitabcha’ (booklet), during a news about the suicide rate in British soldiers.

While talking about a ‘Kitabcha’ being provided to UK soldiers for battling suicidal thoughts, the anchor called it ‘Kuta Bacha’ twice.

The social media users criticised the quality of news as one wrote: “It’s not a split of the tongue, he doesn’t know how to read and was unfamiliar with the word. یہاں بڑھیا کو الٹی ہوتی ہے”

Recalling the old PTV news reading style, one user wrote: “کیا وقت ہوتا تھا پی ٹی وی پر سخت پابندی ہوتی تھی تلفظ اور ادایگی اور خبر پڑھنے والوں کا لہجہ انتہای مصفا اور شفاف ہوا کرتا تھا، اب تو میڈیا پر بحیثیت مجموعی لہجے بگاڑ بگاڑ کے اردو بولنے والے سماعتوں کے لیے کسی بم دھماکے سے کم نہیں”

Believing on the error, one wrote: “I actually thought they gave a puppy to every army soldier.”

Blaming the night shift, one person wrote: “Mubashir Bhai! bechara night shift karta hai, koi nahi aik aadh baar chalta hay, wese boht hassi aarahi mujhe bhi.”
