KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar on Thursday said that he is deliberating with his close friends in order to come to a decision regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) offer to join the party.

Sattar said, “I am consulting my close friends over the offer.”

“PTI wants me to contest the by-election on NA-247 from Alvi’s seat,” he claimed.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sattar had claimed that the PTI government had offered him a party ticket to contest by-elections from NA-247.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he had said, “PTI has offered me to join the party and contest the by-polls in NA-247 from Arif Alvi’s seat.”

He had claimed that “mutual friends” in the ruling party have invited him to contest the election in the constituency.

Earlier, as an outcome of the July 25 general elections, Sattar had lost to PTI founding member Alvi in the constituency.

However, Alvi had resigned from his National Assembly (NA) seat upon being elected as the President
