–Says his ex-wife developed one-sided case against him with FIA director’s help
–Ayesha Subhani denies charge, claims she has evidence of cybercrime
LAHORE: Suspended SSP Junaid Arshad of Police Services of Pakistan (PSP) has accused Punjab’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director Dr Usman Anwar of implicating him in a fake case of cybercrime after allegedly developing illicit relations with his ex-wife.
Ayesha Subhani, his ex-wife, had registered an FIR with FIA’s cybercrime wing in June for allegedly blackmailing her with the assistance of a friend, Danish Ghani, by uploading objectionable pictures of her on social media.
“I never met Danish Ghani. He has only called me thrice in my entire life. He is not my friend, rather he is a planted person by Ayesha Subhani and Usman Anwar. Ayesha and Danish perhaps shared objectionable pictures with each other which never went public.,” he told the media in an emergency press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Monday.
He added, “But the FIA Punjab director guided Ayesha to lodge FIA against me and decided the matter without giving the opportunity to present my version. The case was decided one-sided against me.”
Arshad further alleged that Dr Usman guided Ayesha to also lodge FIR against me in Chung Police Station in a bid to further build pressure on me. He appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar to take suo moto notice of cases against him and deliver him justice.
EX-WIFE CALLS SUSPENDED SSP A HABITUAL LIAR:
On the other hand, Ayesha Subhani while talking to Pakistan Today alleged Arshad of being a criminal and habitual liar who according to her, elopes with different women for getting promotions in his police career.”
Arshad also used my father’s position for his career,” she added while denying any relations with Dr Usman. “I met Dr Usman after the lodging of FIR. He has nothing to do with my case. The cybercrime case against him is very strong and forensic laboratory has proved that,” she said.
“He is a court absconder. Now, he should prove his innocence in trial court. If I were a bad woman, why Arshad did not divorce me. I had to take Khula from the court,” Ayesha said.
FIA Punjab Director Dr Usman did not respond to phone calls and messages sent on his mobile phone despite repeated attempts.
Ayesha Subhani had lodged a case against Arshad and accused him of stealing jewelry worth 20 tolas besides Rs 150 million.
The Gilgit-Baltistan crime branch SSP was suspended for his alleged involvement in cybercrime during 2017. Ayesha Subhani had accused him of blackmailing her with the assistance of his friend Danish Ghani and by uploading objectionable pictures of her on social media.
The police officials following the complaint conducted a raid to arrest Arshad, but he had already obtained a pre-arrest bail and is still on bail.
In August, Ayesha Subhani moved the Supreme Court and sought cancellation of a bail granted to him by the GB court.
After Arshad was reportedly found involved in this activity during the investigation, the Establishment Division suspend the officer on the charges of putting ex-wife’s objectionable pictures on Facebook.
