The relatives of a woman who was allegedly burnt alive by her husband and the in-laws held a protest against the Raiwind police on Ferozpur Road.

According to a local media report, the protestors chanted slogans against the police for not doing anything about the incident despite being informed. They blocked the metro bus track, suspending its service for a few hours near the Lahore General Hospital.

Following the incident, the deceased, Sonia was rushed to a hospital where she told the police that her husband and in-laws had put her on fire, who later succumbed to her injuries.

The protesters alleged the police had let the suspects escape from the area. However, after the police assured justice to them, they dispersed peacefully.
