Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab chapter, under the leadership of provincial opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz, has decided not to criticise the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in the province from the party’s platform for around three months, a private media outlet reported on Saturday.

“This decision can be reconsidered if the PML-N is directly brought under fire by the government and forced to hold a press conference,” a PML-N leader reportedly said and added that no member had been barred from criticising PTI in TV talk shows though.

The party leader also said that PML-N did not feel the need to openly pan PTI’s performance in Punjab. “It is more capable of doing that itself,” he said, hinting at recent incidents such as the chief minister’s helicopter excursions and information minister’s controversial statements.

Another decision the party has taken is to re-organise its structure within the next two months

“Suggestions are being considered by the party to create five different units, including planning, media, coordination, research and legal,” stated the PML-N leader further.
