On the arrival of Prime Minister Imran Khan in the provincial capital of Punjab province, residents of Lahore experienced massive traffic jam at the Canal Road due to security protocol.

Prime Minister Khan, who was already scheduled to make his first official visit to Lahore on Friday night, will stay at his residence in Zaman Park and will hold meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and other party leaders.

As a media consultant of a political party shared this video of traffic jam on Twitter, social media users especially supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf tried to speak in favour of PM Khan, and against the outgoing government and former ruling family.

“And so he should sir. We don’t live in a very safe environment. The PM of every country has a responsibility to keep himself safe,” a user replied. “Again propaganda, so keep it up man because being a patwari, it’s your duty while Naya Pakistan is the moving towards its vision and will keep moving,” another Twitter user wrote.

During his stay in Lahore, Prime Minister Khan will discuss the name of candidates for the by-poll due to be held on two seats of the national and provincial assemblies. On Saturday (today), the prime minister will also address the Punjab cabinet. PTI’s presidential candidate Arif Alvi is also arriving in Lahore for the election campaign.
