The federal government instructed around 12 provincial departments, all divisional and deputy commissioners to plant trees for ‘plant for Pakistan’ day on September 2, however, officials are baffled as no specific instructions came from the federal department.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government did not specify what breed of trees should be planted in different provinces, or if the weather conditions would be suitable for this initiative
The Ministry of Climate forwarded instructions to secretaries of forest, agriculture, primary and secondary healthcare, higher education, local government, specialised healthcare, higher education, home, communication and works, industries, commerce and investment, school education, labour and human resource and housing departments, and all divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners.
The official instructions also said that funds for the campaign would be covered by the federal government however, no funds have been released as of yet.
