LARKANA: The people of Larkana district on Wednesday appealed to Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed to restore the train service on Kotri-Larkana-Sehwan-Rohri route so that they could also benefit from the trains.

They said that he had announced to bring reforms in the railway sector and open new routes but the traders and businessmen of Larkana had first to travel to Rohri to catch a train to Lahore or any other city of Punjab. They said that the worst affected were the students and traders who cannot safely travel to their destinations willingly and on low fares. The residents also demanded the restoration of Larkana Junction Station and Kambar Railway Line which now looked deserted as both had been ignored since the past 10 years by the previous rulers as they even did not pay any heed to the high court’s orders to restore Kambar Railway Line.

Social workers, including Shakil Abbasi, Sheeraz, Jamil, Sarfraz, Mahmood Abro, and Javed Bhutto also demanded of Prime Minister Imran Khan to look into the issue personally and order the provision of equal transport and railway services to the people of Pakistan.
