KARACHI: Sindh Paramedical Staff Welfare Association (SPSWA) on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club against blasphemous cartoons’ competition in the Netherlands and demanded of the government to end the diplomatic ties with the Dutch government.

The protesters were led by SPSWA Central President Akhlaq Ahmed Khan, Islam Uddin Shah, Yousuf Khan, Mirza Javed Baig, Murad Bloch and others.

The protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with different slogans. They also demanded a boycott of Dutch products and closure of their diplomatic missions in Pakistan.

Mirza Javed Baig in his speech urged the government to not only discontinue diplomatic and commercial relations with the Netherlands but also demand from other Islamic countries to do the same.

They demanded of the federal government to call Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting to convey a strong message to the world in order to press the Dutch government to ban the blasphemous competition.
