LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Mian Nasir on Wednesday submitted a call attention notice in the Punjab Assembly over the death of a minor girl at Mian Channu’s Tehsil Headquarters Hospital during Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar visit there the other day.

The notice held CM Buzdar responsible for the death of the child, arguing that CM’s protocol led to doctors’ negligence in treating the child. The notice added that those who were “chanting the mantra of ending protocols” have now “become killers”.

“It is the height of cruelty that the chief minister arrived to inquire about the health of the child after her demise,” the PML-N leader claimed.

The PML-N leader’s notice read that the chief minister was “busy projecting himself while parents were experiencing pain and anguish”.

This development comes after reports of alleged negligence began circulating on social media claiming that the girl was not allowed inside the emergency room. However, there has been no evidence to corroborate the claims.

Mother of the one-year-old Thalassemia patient had earlier alleged that her daughter expired because doctors left her to attend to the chief minister during his visit to the hospital.

Reacting to the claims, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media team shared a video that showed Buzdar speaking to a patient and the woman sitting in the background while her daughter was being administered a drip.

The mother had also claimed that protocol officers of the provincial chief minister had denied her entry to the hospital. However, the doctors too rejected the impression that the girl died due to their negligence.

They said the staff performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the girl but to no avail.
