An alleged Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) hitman was killed in an alleged ‘encounter’ a month after being released from prison, according to a local media outlet.
Police personnel in Ittehad Town were engaged in routine snap checking when suspicious motorcyclists were asked to stop.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohammad Rizwan said, “Instead they fired shots at the police and tried to speed away.”
“The firing from the suspects led to a reaction from the police and as a result, one of the suspects died in the exchange of gunfire while his aide managed to run away,” he added.
The SSP also said, “The deceased was later identified as Zohaib, alias WC, who was associated with the MQM-London.”
