Three leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are seeking party ticket to contest the by-election from NA-124, a local media outlet reported on Tuesday.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Abid Sher Ali and former Lahore mayor Khwaja Ahmed Hassan are in the race for the ticket.
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif thus has a difficult decision to make as Abbasi, Sher Ali and Hassan are considered important members of the party.
The NA-124 seat was vacated by Shehbaz’s son Hamza Shehbaz.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has set September 16 as the deadline for the nomination of candidates.
