LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said the provision of relief and facilities to the masses was his mission.
Speaking to a delegation of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), the chief minister said that lesser-developed areas would be developed on priority basis and development of developed areas would be continued.
“A new example of public service will be set up by working day and night. My team is committed and hard working and we will deliver by the grace of Allah,” he said, adding that guidance would be taken from media and steps would be taken to solve the problems of the newspaper industry.
He said the establishment of a journalist academy in Punjab would be reviewed and a close liaison would be maintained with media in the future as well.
Earlier, the delegation led by APNS General Secretary Syed Sarmad Ali congratulated CM Buzdar on assuming the office of the chief minister. Sarmad also expressed hope that the government-press relations would be further promoted in his tenure.
