Here are the five deadliest mountains in the world:

1) Annapurna I

Located in Nepal, the tenth-highest mountain in the world, Annapurna I has the highest fatality rate with 34 deaths per 100 safe returns.

 

2)  K-2 “Savage Mountain”

 

Located in Pakistan, the second-highest peak in the world, nicknamed the “Savage Mountain”, has second-highest fatality rate in the world, with 29 deaths per 100 safe returns. K2 has never been climbed in winters.

 

3- Nanga Parbat “Killer Mountain”

Located in Pakistan and nicknamed the “Killer Mountain”, Nanga Parbat (Naked Mountain) is the 9th highest peak in the world and stands at 3rd place for fatality rate – with 21 deaths per 100 safe returns.

 

4) Kanchenchunga “Five Treasures of Snow”

The third highest mountain in the world located at the border between India and Nepal, Kanchenchunga has the fourth highest fatality rate in the world. More than 20% of climbers have lost their lives on Kanchenchunga.

 

5) The Eiger “Mordwand”

The Eiger, nicknamed “Murderous Wall” for its high fatality rates, is located in Switzerland.
