PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested an accused involved in the murder of a policeman during a crackdown here on Tuesday.
On a tip-off regarding presence of wanted criminal, the security agency conducted operation near River Kurram in Peshawar. During the action, an accused involved in murderer of a constable of Basia Khel police station in Bannu was arrested. The detainee was being interrogated after registering a case against him.
In Swabi, the police arrested a drug pusher and recovered huge quantity of drugs during an operation. Reacting to a tip-off regarding presence of drug peddlers, the police conducted operation near Chowki Sherabad in Swabi. During the action, a drug-pusher was arrested after recovery of 6.8 kilogram hashish from their possession.
In Bannu, at least three people were killed in separate firing incidents in different localities here in Bannu. Police said that two groups returning to Bannu city after attending a wedding ceremony in a suburban area exchanged hot words on the way. The verbal clash turned violent after which armed men opened fire at each other resultantly two people were killed.
